About Tapkx

At Tapkx, our story began almost by coincidence. In a Reddit customization group, one of our founders and I once argued passionately about why most modern custom keyboards focused only on hardware and ignored lighting aesthetics — at that time, nearly all custom keyboards were unlit.

That debate sparked something greater. We decided to join forces, bringing together a small team of engineers and designers who shared the same obsession with perfection. Starting from basic RGB-equipped PCBs, we began experimenting with translucent switches built upon existing switch structures. After countless iterations of mold testing and casing prototyping, we finally refined an RGB lighting system that achieved both brilliance and balance.

This journey led to the creation of the KX68 — A Hi-Fi mechanical keyboard featuring a five-sided hollow shell, a new transparent switch mold, and an advanced RGB PCB capable of producing lighting effects with over 16 million color combinations.

The KX68 was born from pure curiosity and passion. Because only with enough passion can truly unique products come to life.
